VO5 Social Stories

VO5, one of the UK’s leading styling brand, partnered off a year-long partnership with NME by headline sponsoring the iconic NME Awards. Strengthening VO5’s association with artists and music experiences, sponsored content was created to integrate VO5 into music, style and fashion content.

As part of this project, social stories for both Instagram and Facebook were created using After Effects. Aimed at an audience (14-24 years olds) that are highly active using social media and all its infamous emoji’s – has become a normal way to communicate and express oneself. Emoji’s make conversation a little more aesthetically interesting. So this was used throughout the designs and animated to achieve this. In total 30 + stories were designed and built, with VO5 branding.

Each animation was firstly designed and then placed as a storyboard. This would make it easier to not only help to overlook all animations but also to make the AdOperation manager aware of the placements of #HASTAGS and styling of these buttons, which needed to be placed manually.

Adobe After Effects was the best way to create these stories as it gave the flexibility of creating floating emoji’s using the ‘effects > Particle World’. This effect was used throughout all stories created.

CAST YOUR VOTE

Combining two different brands, VO5 sponsorship with NME awards, story was created. This story allows users to swipe and vote for there favourite artist as shown through the imagery.

As mentioned, emojis are constantly used to liven up the creative as well as communicating a message instead of words- related to the artist/celebrity.
